Synthetic Sapphire Ball is 99.99% pure Al2O3 and is clear and colorless. Sapphire ball is an anistrophic crystal, hexagonal system, composed of unicrystalline alpha aluminum oxide, essentially 100% pure.

Mechanical applications for precision sapphire balls and hemispheres include: bearings, valves, pumps, flow meters, metrology instrumentation, medical devices, probes.

Optical applications for precision sapphire balls and hemispheres include: lenses, fiber optics, bar code readers, medical devices.
