TP Cylindrical Rollers with Unpolished End Faces
REDHILL supplies TP cylindrical rollers with ground and superfinished rolling surfaces and unpolished end faces. Cylindrical rollers form line contact with bearing raceways. As a result, suitable bearing designs can carry high radial loads.
Unpolished End Faces
Both end faces remain unpolished in the TP version. This can reduce finishing costs where the design permits this surface condition. However, end-face contact with guiding flanges involves sliding friction. Therefore, assess the end finish, contact geometry and lubrication together.
Key Technical Specifications
- Standard Steel: 100Cr6 (1.3505) bearing steel, commonly cross-referenced to SAE 52100.
- Rolling Surface: Ground and superfinished working diameter.
- End Faces: Unpolished on both ends. Define the end-face shape and maximum roughness on the drawing.
- Reference Standard: DIN 5402-1 for cylindrical roller dimensions and designations.
- Tolerances: Specify diameter, length, roundness, profile and sorting requirements separately.
In addition, we can review stainless steel options in AISI 302, 304, 316 and 420C. Their hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance vary by grade and condition.
Typical Applications
For example, TP rollers can serve suitable bearing designs in:
- Gearboxes and Industrial Drives: Cylindrical roller bearing assemblies.
- Motors, Pumps and Compressors: Radial bearing supports.
- Machine Tools and General Machinery: Assemblies that permit unpolished roller end faces.
Speed and Load Selection
Operating speed depends on the complete bearing design, load, lubrication and temperature. Therefore, include the required speed and any axial loading in your specification. Also state the expected contact between roller ends and guiding flanges.
Available Sizes and Custom Requirements
- Diameter: 2.0–70.0 mm.
- Length: 4.0–100.0 mm.
- Related Type: TR cylindrical rollers with polished end faces.
Availability depends on the material, diameter, length and tolerance requirements. In addition, we can review custom sizes, special sorting and matched sets.
Finally, send us your drawing, material, quantity and working conditions. We can then confirm suitable options, availability and lead time.
