TR Cylindrical Rollers with Polished End Faces
REDHILL supplies TR cylindrical rollers with polished end faces for bearings and custom assemblies. Their line contact with raceways supports high radial loads in suitable bearing designs. In addition, the working diameter has a ground and superfinished surface.
Polished End Faces
Polishing lowers surface roughness at the roller ends. This can help reduce friction and wear where the ends contact guiding flanges. However, the result also depends on contact geometry and lubrication. Therefore, define the end profile, roughness and contact conditions on the drawing.
Key Technical Specifications
- Standard Steel: 100Cr6 (1.3505) bearing steel, commonly cross-referenced to AISI 52100.
- Hardness: Typical reference range of 60–66 HRC after heat treatment. Confirm the final range for the roller size and order.
- Rolling Surface: Ground and superfinished working diameter.
- End Faces: Polished on both ends. Specify the end-face shape and maximum roughness separately.
- Reference Standard: DIN 5402-1 for cylindrical roller dimensions and designations.
- Tolerances: Specify diameter, length, roundness, profile and sorting requirements separately.
